Kmax is a complete environment for data acquisition and instrument control with advanced features for data management, visualization, and reporting. Kmax is a self-consistent, fully integrated application, inter-operating with native OS's and other compatible application programs. Kmax is compatible with Intel/Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X computers.
Kmax supports single- and dual-parameter data displays, provides a variety of formatting options and allows the user to configure control panels directly on the computer display. With its 3d view support, ability to import and export data, and high-level support for the CAMAC, VME, GPIB and VXI instrumentation, Kmax is well suited for scientific and engineering computations and data analysis. The core environment may be expanded by adding user defined controls, external commands and external functions, or it may be extended to custom hardware environments by installing user-defined Module Description Resources and low-level drivers.
Kmax 9.0 is the latest release of the Kmax family of data acquisition and data analysis application software. It updates the Kmax application to be compatibole with the latest releases of the Windows, Macintosh and Linux operating systems. It add Java 3D support and options to vies 2D histograms ans 3D surfaces. Kmax 9.x requires a Java SDK and the Java 3D extensions be installed on the computer system (version J2SE 5.0 or higher). The full Java SDK is required.
Kmax 9.0 requires the 1.5.x Java SDK (J2SE 5.0) and the latest version of java 3D.
